Thank you!

To those who were able to hold a year’s work with your presence. To those who have shared your reflections on the piece thereafter. To those who believe in what I do and what I’m capable of. To the ensemble, collaborators, and personnel for filling the nights with their own energies. “Desde Aquí” was a spiraling journey. Still I have been sitting with the feelings of pride and contentment a full month later, something I’m not taking for granted.

“What’s next?”

“Rest!” has been my answer. Traveling has been an escape. Becoming a homeowner unexpectedly became a reality. Waiting on funding for more projects is now a pattern. Navigating relationships is consistent. I say “yes” to all of these things while knowing dance is my modality to find myself if I stray. Right now I am inching back to the studio to open the faucet again, play a playlist of songs, and of course lay on the floor feeling “unproductive” while knowing it is almost a requirement for any dance maker.
